Carver 406 or 405

Postby Mystic144 » January 6th, 2017, 5:44 pm

Hello, wondering if anyone has had any issues with leaking diesel fuel tanks.
And if so how did you handle the repair?
Thanks
Rene

Which tanks? Engine room or under swim platform. Leaking at bottom of tank?Aft tanks I've seen others cut through platform to pull them up and out. I have a 405 so far no issues.

I am interested in buying this model.
How many tanks are on this boat , and is there on in the swim platform?
I thought the swim platform was hollow?
Is your boat gas or diesel?

My 405 is gas, diesel is the same
There are 4 tanks 2 in engine room and 2 under the swim platform. There is a space betwen the top of the tank and the swim platform you can visualize the area if you go the aft stateroom and remove the cushions on the stbd seat by the head of the bed and lift the access panel i have been very happy with this boat the layout is great and you have no problems getting to the engines or genset for maintance and you don't have to be a contortionist like on some boats. Be happy to answer any questions
