Part of the refurbishment of The Black Rose will be reupholstering her exterior and interior seating. If anyone has had experience (good or bad) in this area, please share your advice, wisdom, and/or warnings. Exterior seating on the bridge will be first, then the dinette in the bow and fold-out couch in the salon. All is original and in fair to poor condition at best.

Wife did all of it on our boat.
I don't remember the brand of vinyl, but was specifically designed for marine use.
She has a Husqvarna walking foot sewing machine and she used heavy heavy thread, I think Teflon thread.
Here's a pic of some if before we installed it

Michael, I know a good shop in Jackson, MS but northeast Mississippi has a lot of furniture factories. There are bound to be some good craftsmen available for your project. Fred, your wife has done some amazing work! I am impressed.

Fred: Can I ship all my seating pieces to your wife??? Isn't Trenton somewhere near the Irish Hills? I spent much of my miss-spent youth at Vineyard Lake near Brooklyn, MI.

Jerry: I'm just 15 mi from Tupelo and less than an hour from Pickwick. I'm pretty sure I can find someone nearby if Fred's wife's price is too high. :pirate:

Thank you both for your responses!

You'd never get my wife to do work for anybody but us!

30 years ago when money was scarce, we would jump at the chance to make some cash. But now it's time to relax.

I'm sure you'll find somebody local. Just make sure they use the best materials. The labor is the same.

Can't blame her, I wouldn't either. I'll be sure to specify the best materials. Thanks for the good advice!!
