1987 3607 blower question

1987 3607, did it come with 1 or 2 blowers? My boat has 2 and if you turn on from the bridge and then also turn on lower helm switch it sounds like they either sped up or the 2nd one comes on. Are they wired separate or does turning on lower helm switch also push more electrical current to them and increase their speed? Some things will drive you crazy about a boat.

I don't know about your boat specifically, but have you tried looking at the wiring diagram from Carver? I'm sure they are still available. It sounds like someone changed the wiring or you have some corrosion in the wire from one of the switches (higher resistance = less current and more heat).

There are two blowers and they both come on at the same time with either the lower station switch or the bridge switch.
What you are hearing is the difference in voltage drop. With both switches on you are essentially doubling up the wire going to the blowers which cuts the resistance in half, allowing a slightly higher voltage to run the blower. It is normal.

No, not at all. The motors are cooled by the flowing air. More current make more heat but also more air moving though to take care of it.
