Carver 530 Bow Thruster Issues

Hey everyone my boat was moved recently for the marina to make some repairs to the pylons. When they moved it back they rode my bow thruster way too much for some reason and it stopped working! (I know this because unbeknownst to them I happened to be listening in on my security system).
So I just got back to my boat and was testing it and I can hear the motor running when I use it but the thruster isn’t thrusting?
Any ideas on where to start troubling shooting or fixing it?
Thanks for any advise!

Would help to know the brand of thruster but if the motor is actually turning, then you've sheared a drive pin or key. You'd have to remove the motor to check the pin/key. Worst case is a broken prop/s or the gear leg failed. Hope the oil level has been maintained if applicable. Does the motor sound like it's running as usual/at full force? Is it a Volvo QL?

Hopefully just a shear pin as Viper mentioned. If you can be sure the motor is actually turning, I would approach the marina management and have them lift the boat and see if there is something still jammed in the tunnel and have the shear pin / key replaced. Hopefully a minor repair.

Okay, you also have a belt on that model. It could also be the belt or a belt pulley. Remove the screws on the side of the blue cover, pull it off and you'll see it. Check that before you go any further. You can see a parts breakdown here on page 40...

Thanks for info...I think it’s good news. The belt was snapped. Got one on order arriving Tuesday for $60. If I gt out of this only costing me $60 I will flabbergasted lol:)
Not I am limping back to the dock...lost throttled power on the post engine. Will go in and of gear but every time I go to accelerate the port engine starts cutting out/sputtering. It used to do that once in awhile on plain so could be fuel filters etc? Anyone have any thoughts on that?
I love boating lol:)))

I'm assuming you have Racor primaries. When was the last time they were dismantled and cleaned? Have the air intake filters been replaced recently?

Got my new belt in...does this look about right? I just snuggled up the tensioner against the belt as much as I could with a little leverage...didn’t go crazy but it pretty snug. Does that sound about right? The thruster is working perfectly again!

Per my new fuel problem I am having the pre filters changed and the filters on the engine as a starting point.
R u all believers in the BG 245 diesel fuel additive? Was thinking about using some of that but the only problem is I just filled up so it would cost a fortune!
