Transmission lever sheared off! Need replacement

Greetings! When warming up my 1978 Mariner 3396 my starboard transmission lever sheared right off (see attached photo). I'm looking for a replacement (prefer to replace with original part that matches port lever). Not sure if it can be welded (two types of metal visible in photo), and if it could be, if it would actually hold given where the break is located. Greatly appreciate any leads on where to find a replacement or tips from anyone who this has happened to! Our mechanic says he's never seen anything like it. In the meantime, thankfully a vice grip is working...

Thanks!

Looks like cast white metal, unfortunately not weld friendly at all. Maybe locate a new one in a salvage yard?

Agree... a salvage yard might be the best source.

It might have been previously weakened by some left/right pressure if someone grabbed it while walking around.

Speaking of Salvage Yards, may be we should start a board with Salvage Yard info for all everyone knows about!

Your most likely better off to buy a new dual shifter.
