Rudder indicator issue

Postby Smoken » November 3rd, 2020, 2:42 pm

We have a 2000 53 Carver Voyager. The rudder indicator is off by one mark. I can’t find anyway to adjust the rudder unit. Has anyone had this issue and corrected it? Thanks in advance.

There is an adjustment screw on the rudder sender connection consisting of a threaded tube with a threaded rod and lock nut. Loosen the locknut and adjust accordingly. ;-)

I agree with the guys. This is best done with a buddy at the helm so they can monitor the gauge while you make your adjustment and let you know when to stop. Way easier than going up and down yourself after each adjustment. Depending on the make and model of sender, you may or may not have contacts on top of the unit where the wiring is connected. If you do have terminals there, make sure you have clean, tight, secure connections before making any adjustments.
