Rear Sliding Cabin Door

Hello all,
I have a 1995 Carver 355 and the rear sliding acrylic door is getting hard to open or close.
I have tried spraying a dry lube on the top and bottom tracks. That seemed to help for a while bit now it is getting so my wife sometimes can't open it to leave the boat.

That is not a good situation.
Does someone have any info on removing and repairing this thing so it will be easier to operate?
Thanks for any help and advice you may give.

I think there is a thread on here where a member did take his rollers off and clean them. It was either a 355 or 356. Might try some searches or browse through the 'maintenance' or 'projects' forums

My 404 does not have rollers on that door. It has plastic glides instead. About the only thing I have found that really works is to remove the door and thoroughly clean the pads and tracks.

I was having a lot of problems on my 356 as well. Kept hitting it with WD-40 and it would help for a little while. Yes, I know dry lubricant is better to use...just don't have any.
Anyway, one day I really got to looking at the door and the slides and realized something was out of whack with the bottom slide. I don't recall exactly what the problem was, but I worked on it and the door is better...not great, but better. Enough that the admiral doesn't complain.
Also, not sure about a 355, but on my 356, there is a knob on top of the door you can use to secure the door to keep it from sliding in heavy seas. If you have that knob, try playing with it to make sure it is in the loose setting.

I believe that mine has slides also as I can't see any rollers.
I guess you can remove the top slides and then lift the door out of lower tracks?
I will search for earlier threads on this subject if I can figure out how.
Thanks

Especially look at your bottom slide. IIRC, my slide was missing a screw or two and the door wasn't properly seated in the slide. You have to look hard to see the problem.

Here's what I found when dealing with my own doors last week:

I have sprayed lubricant on my sliding door to the salon on my 2000 396 aft cabin. I am also considering adding a handle on the inside. I have asked for thoughts on this in another thread but so far no response. I can't figure out how to remove the door or how to obtain access to the sliding/roller parts.

Tgebler, check the post linked in my post just above yours. I took some notes on what I had to do. Might help you.
