Bow window seals

Postby Sven2021 » February 28th, 2021, 3:42 pm

When I purchased my 1993 390 Aft Cabin Carver the salon bow windows leaked. I cleaned them up and sealed with black marine grade RTV. Leaking again (6 yrs) just wondering if they originally had rubber seals and if so where can I get them. No seals apparently in them when I purchased.

When you reseated them did you draw them right down or did you bead them let them set 24 hours and then draw them down? If you didn't let them set up before drawing them down you more than likely squeezed all the silicone out only giving you a very thin seal and thus after 6 years leaking again.
