Replacement Bilge Pump

Hey all, I have two (fore and Midships) bilge pumps that I think are dead. With spring here and summer on its way, I want to be sure I have all of this critical equipment working. Have any of you replaced the 2000 GPM pumps? Is there a model you recommend? Is the Rule Mate 2000 GMP Automatic pump a good one?

Thanks all

Have you verified they have power to them? Ot are they physically damaged? Rule makes lots of pumps. I don't have all in one Mine have separate float switches which is what usually will fail. Switches are cheap to replace

What have you done to make sure they are dead? I assume you have one aft as well. Is it working?

What ever happened with your water pump issue? Did you get that figured out?

Make sure the floats are not the actual problem. Those pumps are pretty bullet proof. A lift tech accidently flipped my switch to continuous run. Ran for 2 days. Still works. Original pumps from 1995. 8-) er

Thanks again, I have not laid eyes on it yet (weather here turned bad lately and the cockpit is way rainy) but figured I would ask first. This weekend is my day in the bilge.

As for the water pump, haven't gotten there yet either. As I am at the marina, I have shore water. I will be hopefully taking her out for a run this weekend after having my port exhaust manifold and turbo replaced. Both had cracks and were leaking coolant. Bummer there, but I knew it was coming from my survey.

I will definitely look at the pumps this weekend, seems as if I will have to make sure my plumbers crack is not showing :-P
