As many of you know , I am bring back to life a 2001 356 aft cabin. This boat has been sitting for at least a year and a half. The oil looks clean and shows no signs of moisture in it. Should I change it now or wait till I can run the engines and get some of that stuff that may have settled mixed back in to the oil ? I would be doing this on both the engines and generator,

Jason

Two schools of thought here. One before or one after. Since you don't really know how long since the last oil change for your own peace of mind change it before just to be sure.

I agree, change it, run it a little and change it again. Oil is rather inexpensive. ;-) If it was me I would not change the filter first time around however on the second oil change do change the filter.

Yea, I'd say change it twice. You can you some inexpensive oil the first time (not cheap oil, just inexpensive oil) as it's only going to be in there a short time, and then replace that with Rotella or Mobil1

Ok, that’s what I will do.

Thanks, Jason
