Window vinyl gauge

Hello All,
I have been searching the posts for any related thread on this topic and cannot find one so apologies if it has been discussed already.
I am replacing all the windows on my canvas on my 2003 360. I can't seem to find anywhere on what the recommended gauge should be. I was thinking of doing 40 gauge all around. The folks doing the work for me have 30 gauge on hand, and I'm not sure if that will cut it. Appreciate any feedback,
Thanks!

I am told that 40 is standard and 60 (mine is 60) is becoming the new standard. 60 tends to hold up better and look better as they don't bend and wrinkle nearly as bad over time.
I would push for 40 at least.

Thanks @Rocketman for the feedback, that is what I am pushing for as well.

Careful where you go with 60 because if you want to roll it up to store it, it will be a chore and does not roll up as tightly as 40. I have 40, works well IMHO.

I have had all the versions and the 040" is about what works all around. Really the heavy lasts but scratches up over time with cleanings and is not friendly if you are confronted with cold damp weather. The lighter gage is easier for them to work with.
One thing I found with the last new new top etc we had done.....we went with the light tint ( not the dark stuff ), you can barely tell but it does make a difference for heat and sun and looked good.

I used 30 on my bridge canvas because I pull pieces down frequently. I used 40 on my aft deck because it never gets rolled up except on piece. I will say that the clarity of the 40 is better than the 30. The 30 rolls super easy and the 40 is stiff. I can't imagine what 60 would be like to roll up on a chilly MN day, but I bet it's optically superior.

Technically the thicker it gets the less clearer it gets. If you see better through your 40 than 30 then the product quality of the 40 material is simply superior than the 30 you have. The price range from one brand to another in the same thickness can be quite a bit but this is mostly due to the quality which translates mostly to optical transparency.
