Window weather stripping (Cat Whisker) replacement

I contacted Taylor Made and no longer stocking the weather stripping for my 94 390CPMY. They sent me samples that I could try and match up. However, no matter how many times I look at these windows, I can’t figure out how to get them out of the tracks to replace the weather stripping. From outside? Inside? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Tony

If they're the snap-in type, I just grabbed an end with some needle nose pliers and pulled the old stuff out.

It’s called zipper pile weatherstripping. You can measure the features and match it up pretty easily. To remove it you pull it from one end and it will come out. It is probably sticky getting out due to age, I know mine was a pita to get out. The windows don’t need to be removed, you can just slide it past the windows in place. It isn’t super easy, but it isn’t too hard either.

Mine were completely worn or hard like cement with dust, algae and crud.

With picks (like dentists use, with a hook at the end) I managed to scrape and pull it all out. Then with brushes got another bucket of dust out.

When you do that, you'll discover small drain holes. Obviously, as from now I'll flush those at the end of the season before storage (we don't shrink wrap here) and start of the season.

Mine is also fossilized like that in the tracks. Hoping it will stop some leaks when it rains.

Ran across some pictures that I had taken when I replaced the pile weatherstripping on the windows on my 3607.

How did you get the entire track done? Did you do 1/2 then slide the window back and do the other half? And the fixed panel? Thanks this will make it easier for us!
