hi folks, new Carver Santego owner here.
Have the rear seat and it has two folding (front) legs which fit into sockets on the engine covers, but there's no support for the rear of the seat. It appears as there should be some sort of rod that fits into existing holes but haven't chanced across any 18" rods. I did find that 1" wood dowels would fit in the holes, but can't determine how one would secure the seat to the dowel so the seat doesn't easily slide forward. I could drill and screw through the dowel into the grooved teak block under the seat but that would make it fairly permanent, which is an impediment to getting at the engines.
Anyone here with a Santego or similar that can explain or provide a picture of what should be there?

wingnutt, welcome aboard and Congratulations on your new to you Santego. You have the smaller of the Santego’s so the cockpit seat sounds like it is different than on the larger Santego as they do not have any legs but are hinged to the storage area built into the transom. Post some photos and the forum Should be able to give you some ideas at the very least.

ok, took some pics.
There are brackets at the back of the seat underside ... but no corresponding brackets (or holes) on th transom. There are, however, correspobding holes (in which I've inserted 1" dowels which kinda work but allow the sseat to slide forward.

wingnutt, here is a link to an earlier thread regarding the bench seat on the 2767 Santego. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1129&start=10 you might try contact Golfgippsland he last posted on here back in August. You are definitely missing some pieces. It shouldn't be too hard to make, once you know what you need.
