Through hull valve

I just bought a 1997 Mariner 350 and absolutely love it. While in the process of learning the boat I discovered a thru hull valve in the forward bilge on the starboard side. This is a large diameter valve. It is closed and the hose goes towards the bow and then I lose sight of it.
I have no idea what it is used for. Anybody have any ideas?
thanks,
Dave L.

Is it sanitation hose? Very likely it is a direct discharge hose from your marine head. There should be a Y valve to switch between direct discharge and the holding tank. There are also some CG regs concerning these valves you need to be aware of.

Or to the AC water pump?

I'm betting on an overboard discharge for waste. The AC intake hose is typically 1" or less and, other than engines, there are no thru hulls larger than that.

Thanks, I appreciate all of your responses. Maybe I wasn't clear enough with my description of the valve.
It is a large diameter valve (maybe 2 inches in diameter, the size of a waste hose).
The valve is mounted directly to the hull on the starboard side, and it appears to be for the purpose of raw water intake.
I don't know what it's for but, I have ruled out raw water intake for AC or waste.
As I said, one end of the valve is directly to the hull, the other end of the valve is connected to a 2inch diameter hose the runs forward underneath the forward stateroom (there is not head anywhere near there). After that, I have not idea.
Any further thoughts on the matter would be appreciated, before I started taking the stateroom apart piece by piece!

Typically, on the 350 Mariner, the overboard waste pump is located under that floor. The pump is tied in to the deck pump out hose through a Y Valve. There is a hatch in the stateroom that you should be able to lift to see what's under there.

Thanks Kenny, nothing to see in the hatches, but with a little more effort I should be able to lift out an adjacent section by removing a few screws.
