Shower Sump pump clean up in 56 Carver Voyager
Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. Where is the shower some pump for the starboard guest shower for the 56 Carver Voyager? I just got this bad odor, for the first time ever and I need to remedy the situation. I appreciate your help and your prompt response

Yes, you can pour general household cleaners down the drain, but a good cleaning is needed.

(shower) drains get dirty from what is put in that is not flushed out, dries partly and then more is added over time that has a nice primer to cling to. It's mostly grease based so dissolve the grease and flush it out plus whatever got stuck in that grease layer.
No need to use aggressive chemicals, if you fill and flush with vinegar you can get a lot out. Best used if you're not too late, more like a regular maintenance flush after a trip's use.
Nevertheless, you'll need to find that sump now because it will have collected dirt plus you want to know your boat anyway. Do you have the manual/schematics? a 56 is a lot of boat to search through! Did you check the manuals thread on this forum? there's a list of all the documents pulled from the Carver site, if yours is listed then let me know and I'll send it to you.

If you have documentation that is not listed and can share it, it's appreciated!

As mentioned, it should be a few feet away from the shower drain under the floor. I also need to lift the carpet in the master stateroom to access the hatch to get to it. A bunch of hoses run into mine, the head sink drain, the shower drain, the aft stateroom AC condensate and a couple of others I have not figured out yet.
