Loose Electric Stove Top

Hello all, the 3 burner electric stove top in my Carver 46 MY is no longer attached to the base. I can pick the stove top up and look underneath. All is in good order and it works fine, but not sure what to use to attach it. It appears that there was some type of sticky gasket that has over time (2005 year boat) just worn out.
Any ideas of what to use to attach it given heat issues? Any suggestion much appreciated.

Not sure but they probably used a 2-way type of gasket to hold in place. You can redo that gasket or use dabs of silicone to hold in place. If you do, it will be easy to remove if you need to do some work .

Just a thought, but you might consider replacing it with an induction cooktop. There's a couple threads on here where folks have done those and they look great (and probably work great if you have the right pans!).
Otherwise, I do think a high-temp silicone would work just fine. Mask off the area, apply the silicone, drop the cooktop back in place, wipe the silicone and remove the tape and no one would be the wiser that it ever was an issue.

I replaced ours with an induction cooktop. I did not adhere it to the counter as it allows me to lift it up and out if so required for access to my fridge and other hard to reach places from the underside. Just used some thin foam which I stuck around the glass perimeter which prevents any kind of slippage. Unless the boat flips over, it will definitely not fall out.

Induction is the way to go. As fast as a butane stove and I would go as far as saying faster. Boils water in no time and will fry bacon likidy split. I that even a real word?

True! Induction is fast or faster than gases........
