Windlass...Maxwell 800..
Perhaps...one of you reading this in the Ft. Lauderdale area has experience and knowledge on the Maxwell 800 winch or know of someone...
Paying for help of course.
Posted on various sites to no avail so far.
Hired one tech and...disaster. Didn't know what he was doing and created more problems. That tech was....me! Not going to hire him again!
Problem? Winch is turning...in and out but not grabbing the line. Replaced the rode and anchor..fed the line back in...loosened the clutch plate per instructions and manually fed the line in about 4 feet...retightened the cap...snug...now won't pull the rode. Tighten the cap a bit more...spins fine otherwise.
Search on Google says...probably a sheer pin...remove the cap and replace the brass pin. Not going to try...rather pay and learn...
So again..if you're in the area and can help out..money paid...appreciate it or know of a tech.
Enjoy your day!
