Trim tabs on 1979 voyager 3326

Trim tabs are not functioning. The boat is on the hard and I can hear the pump motor running when I press the switch but nothing happens, no movement in the tabs. I'm very surprised at the size of what I think is the reservior for the system, yes there is fluid in the reservior. Any ideas on how to get things working. I'm going to disconnect the lines to the pistons this weekend to verify the pump is working.

The information about the stearing system was very helpfull.

My project boat had sat for 10 years. One tab cylinder leaked at the pipe that went through the hull, and the other cylinder was frozen solid. Bought a set of cylinders brand new on ebay cheap.

Might try removing the fitting inside the hull at the cylinder, and actuate the pump briefly in the tab-extend switch position. If oil shoots out, then you know your cylinders are stuck internally. If no flow, then I would guess one of the directional solenoids under the reservoir cover is sticking / inop.

fwiw - I am not a tab expert - just saying what I would think!

Thanks. I wondered how the cylinders could work with only 1 line
