Can't open sliding windows in Salon - 1987 Santego 3067

I'm unable to get the sliding salon windows open at the moment, I've put a bit of effort into cleaning the tracks that the window rides on but I'm only able to open the window ~1". The window "lock" is in the open position.

I'm happy to go whole hog and scrape whatever is on the track but want to check if there is something else I'm missing. From what I can see, there is a small brush strip and some sort of rubber on the track.

Should the windows be easy to slide open and close and the tracks require cleaning or is there some other mechanism that I need to account f or

Apologies for lack of picture.

If they have not been open in years + then clean, clean, small toothbrush, soap and water.....then silicone spray....gently move back and forth and keep cleaning.....good luck, take your time ( gently does it ).

Hopefully nobody siliconed em shut due to leaks.

The bridge starts to sag over time, putting pressure on the aluminum window frame. You will need a bottle jack, 2 x 4 to distribute load. Not hard to do go slow.

Thanks for the ideas!

Once the bottle jack support is removed, wouldn't the sag return and cause the window to stick again?

Yes, you are correct, they will stick again. You will need to remove frame, grind out fiberglass tight spots. Check aluminum frame for
compression issues. If frame is good, Reassemble using butal caulk on out side. do not tighten screws all the way. After one or two weeks tighten screws.
Winter time project, you can also reanodize frame while its out.Check D K Hardware for rubber or felt seals.
