1999 450 Voyager. I want to remove the top part of cockpit sidewall to repaint it. I believe this piece is aluminum. I can’t find where or how it is fastened to the fiberglass sidewall. Can anyone help? There is a strip of no skid down the top that looks like it is siliconed in. Wondering if that piece pops out and screws are underneath. See photo attached.

I'm currently looking at a 2002 Voyager 450 that is also in need of attention in this area. Did you ever find any more info on this or proceed with repairs?

I haven’t gotten a reply from anyone. Yours looks very similar to mine. On my Voyager, the aluminum parts show the same paint chipping/color difference where they’ve been repainted. This includes transom door, side covers that I posted a picture of, pilothouse door, and lower part of arch. No problem at all with the rest of structure which is all fiberglass. For some reason, issue with paint bonding on the few aluminum parts. I love the boat, just need to figure out this issue.
