Hello, I purchased my '96 325 Aft Cabin last fall. It came with a Bruce anchor and we're having some challenges getting the anchor off and on the boat. It sets great. We have a Lewmar windless. Looking for recommendations for a self-launching solution that fits the pulpit on the 325 Aft Cabin.

Just what challenges are you having? Is it the cleat getting in the way?

Welcome aboard.
So I suspect what you're saying is that once the anchor is up it sits in such a way that you have to give it a push for it to launch, am I reading that right? If so, sometimes a longer anchor helps or a different style all together. There are also roller assemblies that have a forward pivoting section. Once the tension is released on the chain, the assembly pivots down.

Yes, I have to push (aggressively) to get the anchor out if it's resting position. I'd like to get a self-launching. I'm considering a Kingston Anchor model Bruce25, but wanted to ask some '96 Carver owners if they had any other suggestions. I'm not sure the Bruce25 fits into the location?? I thought of changing anchors, but the roller assembly does look like it's served its time, so right now I'm leaning toward replacing it.

Hi Buster53. That cleat is a little bothersome when I tie the rode onto it to relieve the strain on the windless. I'm looking for some options for a self-launching roller assembly.

Welcome to the forum......we had on a previous boat a pivoting self launching roller from Good, real nice stuff.
Now there are several makers of these things, they all will require some fitting/engineering to install because of all the different configurations on the bow or pulpit.IMO.
Yours looks to be fairly easy to fit with a little thought.
By the way, by the looks of yours, maybe just try a larger hoop first.

Thanks Bud37, I'll give that a try. The other issue is the rode tends to slip off the roller while retrieving the anchor. It looks bent on the port side of the roller and the line/chain slips between the roller and the guide. That's why I'm thinking its just time to retire that roller assembly. I'll take a look at Good. Thanks.
