Hello everyone
1st great season with my 1988 3297 mariner. I live in Jersey and have a Grady here and my Carver in Maryland, they just pulled my Carver and it's on the hard. Going down in the morning to pull batteries and button things up. Question, is there a drain plug ? The broker had it in the water when I went to pick it up so I really didn't think about it till now. Thanks in advance

If the boat's not going to be open where there's a possibility of water getting inside, I probably would not pull the plug. I did pull the plug on mine for the first couple years, then realized it was probably a wasted effort, especially since where the plug was and how they blocked the boat the water would have to get pretty high in the engine compartment before it ever got high enough to run out the drain plug. I never got water inside the boat on the hard.

On mine the drain plug was on the centerline of the boat in the hull bottom, and about 8" forward of the transom. There was a bit "T" handle from the inside to remove it. Later models had the drainplug on the transom centerline, inches above the keel, and removed from the outside.

Thanks it took me awhile but I did find it inside the engine compartment, really wasn't expecting that. Looked to have some kind of sealant around tread, so I left it in till i looked into it further. I feel better now with your response, thanks again, enjoy the holidays
