Ah that damn exchange rate. But that's what I paid for a new one last year here in the US. Maybe after a few cocktails u can get some boater buddies to chip in and share the purchase and use! :beergood:

Bud, same question I was thinking.
When I looked at one, I couldn't justify the price.....maybe I missed something.

Well I only plugged it in to see if I had any codes lingering. I have not run it thru all it's functions yet!

From what I understand, if the idiot lights are not flashing or on, then there are no codes....
So, if a light was on, then it would save money not having a mechanic check...
Sounds like a good tool to rent...

Dreamer u r right to a point. U could also just use a paper clip and count the flashes to get the codes. However you won't be able to Monitor Live Engine Data•Read & Erase Faults•Perform Functional Tests•View Engine History and upgrade and update the program as needed. Five tech visits to hook up their equipment and u own ur own scanner! Just a thought.

I am just not sure yet if the laptop program for just 150 or so more wouldn't be the better way to go.....trouble seems to be that you have to see data to properly diagnose, as I think some sensors don't set codes........ :beergood:
