I was wondering why my v drive light was on on my 1984 carver with 220 crusaders even though I checked the oil which it said to do in the Manuel but the oil was full is there any other reasons why the light would be on.

When is the light on ?.....if I remember right I believe the light goes out above 11 or 1200 rpm, something like that.
What does your operating manual say ?

Bud is correct. They will stay on until about 1200 rpm in gear typically. Then they should turn off. If they don't, then you need to find out why, first step is to check the oil.

The light is on because you either have a bad pressure switch or you don't have enough oil pressure.

Tbone17, does it stay on after 1200 rpm in gear while underway or are you checking that in neutral at the dock? It must be over 1200 IN gear.

Hey there,
Is there a difference between the v-drive light staying on or blinking? Mine is blinking continuously while driving above 1200 rpm
