Just picked up new to me 1987 Carver 2557 Montego twin 180/3.7LX (4bbl) with alpha one outdrives.
Checked bellows before purchase looked ok newer all intact, During seatrail ran great shifted great. when we got back to dock was letting it idle and starboard engine was running hot. After I got it home I as was reinspecting and found starboard hose from bellhousing to gimbal housing is kinked and looks like it has a hole.
Looking for advise as to if I can change out hose be removing drive then bellhousing? Will I be able to change hose with out removing drive shaft and exhaust bellows.
Any thought or help would be appreciated.

Well after work and thinking to much, I went home and looked at hose. All three bellows looked fairly new and i good condition. Hose clamp on intake hose on drive end was rotted and shot. I was able to get a new one up there then and tightened with the drive fully tilted. I also put a wide clamp around intake hose at kink. that reformed hose and prevents it from kinking at that location. Hopefully I am good to go.
I will check on hose and compare flow to other drive.
Drop it in the water and hopefully be all set!!!
