Thanks all for the responses. Update: I powered the unit up to see if i could keep ice cold before I tackle the water line issue. It was below freezing within about 90 min in the 90 + South Carolina heat and humidity.

on the carver 356, can anyone tell me where the power plugs to on the ice-maker? I am attaching picture. I just got around to this and when I opened the cover this is what I saw. Not sure ice-maker works. i know the freezer works. Also assuming once I plug the power to ice maker unit (the plug pictured in attachment), the water basically comes from the water line depending on where I am currently getting water, from dock or on-board tank, correct? If that's the case that's probably useless, as I do not drink

it, even though I have the drinkable hose from dock to boat and filter at end. Any comments on that?

Your missing the ice control module or have you taken it off for pic ? you need this part and a a small additional wire the orange wire that has the connector on it.

Here's a pic of the front
https://www.google.com/search?q=whirlpo ... fjLY69M%3A
I have just replaced my ice maker parts and I will happy to help if you want. Don't buy the ice maker assy from raritan or uline. Thwy want over $250 for this. Iit's a whirlpool made part modified a small bit the unknown is that the part I put the link to is needed but you don't know if the ice mold thermostat is good or not it is the 2 pins you see sticking out in you pic. Or if the ice mold heater is good or not you could with a meter but for the price I replaced my ice maker assy complete with this and I have some useable extra parts from the old one

And added the wire need to connect to the loose orange wire in your pic there is a couple things to do if you decide on this

I only removed the cover and see whats in the picture. Sounds like its missing a part from what you are saying. So if I purchase the part you say above for $19, I can make it work? Now that I research this more I see, it is missing that. Not sure previous owner took it out. Well for $19 bucks, I can try it, if you are saying that part will fit the 356 carver 2000 year model.

Yes it's not specific like I said this is a whirpool made ice mold assy whether they admit it or not. Dont get confused with thinking i mean the whole ice maker machine only the ice mold. If you want to try the $19 part but if you will read all of my post your are taking a chance the mold heater or mold thermostat could be bad. If you buy the 19 dollar part you will need to add a wire to make it function. I can send you a pic of it .this wire will need to be added either way of what you purchase unless you buy direct from raritan for $200 or so. If you want shoot me a email with you phone may be easier to help than my typing

Thanks, if not much trouble, please email to cpointx@excite.com (remove 'x' from cpointx) with wire image. I understand I may have other bad parts as you mention, but $19 is no big deal to try. I think what I have ic icerette (raritan maker). And I see complete kit for ice maker at $274 at their site. Not worth it because I have no need for it, but if I can make it work cheap, that's great.

Hope that part works for you. We did the $200.00 icerette part, plus labor, now $ 500.00 and end up buying the Edgestar and replacing the whole unit for $300.00. Good Luck! Mike

I found out in boating there is nothing cheap, and there are no solutions :)

I will send you the pics monday morning showing the wire you need to add when I get to work. To bad mjk1040 I sure wasn't going to spend the money raritan wanted. I would go for the edgestar probably. I can guarantee the replacement complete ice mold assy posted for $49 will fix the ice mold issue he has assuming the rest of the unit is working as it is supposed to. if he wants to try only the control module that's cool too. Make sure all the corrosion on the pins that are shown in your pic are clean and Shiney they will need to make contact in the new module.
