I should add I need to get more detailed information if marinas are included in this latest list of closings.

Marinas should make the case that they are essential for mental stability and just insure that they are using appropriate 'physical distancing" measures to control risk.

I agree however there are several state/county/municipal/city/provincial marinas that just plop everything they own/do into an overall shutdown. This is the case of my storage marina.

Could not think of a better place to be anchored out with nobody around, secluded away from it all. My 4 tanks are full so I could go for close to half the summer before needing to refuel. Get the darn thing in the water ASAP please.

Our Marina let us know that they are open and we can access our boats when we like during their staggered hours. If we want to meet anyone from the office we have to make an appt. Still planning on beginning launches in April and let us know that they are stocking up on cheap gas.......all of this could change of course, but still optimistic!

I suggest you jump on the occasion to get it floating before it's too late. Lucky you. ;-)

Marty - you may want to wait till the ice is gone. Having said that, the ice in Green Bay is gone. We even have our first grounded ship. The Algoma Conveyor, 740 foot freighter, lost propulsion and the high winds blew her into shallow water just east of the shipping lane. Loaded with street salt. The authorities are working on getting her off as I write this. All crew is safe. Vessel probably not damaged as it is almost all sand where they are 4 miles north of the port of Green Bay. 8-) er

No news from our marina. They have been collecting our payments but no news to the fact if they are opening. What a oad of crap we are in. I'm sure that since they are private, they will open. Hoping anyway.

I'm sure marinas will open but I suspect it won't be business as usual this summer. In speaking with a lot of techs, the fear of boarding boats to do repairs is uppermost on their minds. They won't be boarding with the owner around and other regular duties during the coarse of the summer will have to be considered such as dock staff that do the refueling, pump-outs, work the dock store, etc. Customers too need to consider public areas such as the marina store, washrooms, etc. Heck, if the marina is gated, you have to be careful when you punch in the gate code with those that have a key pad. Several marinas in my area are staffed but doors closed to the public.

My fear with all this is that it's so easy to re-infect yourself and others, and that just when we think the issue has settled down and under control, it could very easily ramp back up again. The epicenter (China) has now recovered but are suddenly experiencing a hike again from nationals returning back to their own country. The new cases are people returning home. They can start the whole ball rolling again.

Will this ever go away? I fear not, after all it is a virus. Like the common flu and cold that we haven't been able to get rid of those for hundreds of years. :-(

Be safe.

I volunteer at a State Certified food pantry that serves families in need of food. We just got a whole new set of rules for distribution and donations. We can not accept donations unless they are individually packaged items. That eliminates about 20% of our donation source. Specifically, bakeries and bagel shops donating their days overstock. Makes sense though. Also, no more than 2 people in pantry at a time, and they no longer can choose their own food needs. Gonna stretch the distribution time out 10 fold. It just keeps getting tighter, let's hope this is short term. Not to bring up faith/religious beliefs, but it appears as though someone or thing is really mad at us. Fires, storms, earthquakes, tsunamis, water levels, disease,...is this all part of a bigger picture? Just a little over 40 days and we MAY be able to start launching. 8-) er
