If this is left on and a line breaks, there will be and endless supply of water entering your boat!!. On the other hand, the water pressure pump from the potable water tank can only dump as much water as you have in your tank so not a sinking issue if this is forgotten on.

Maybe quieter, no pump running, flow may be a bit higher. Still it was no bother to fill the tank and when we visited I knew what water we had......just my old guys opinion, the same old guy that would have walked right past the shut off on the dock....
