Starting Procedure

Postby slattmann » August 22nd, 2015, 8:24 pm

i am a new member of this forum. About 5 months ago I sold my 1996 31' Santego and purchased a 2003 36' Motor Yacht. For a number of reasons I have not been able to run the boat since I picked it up but today planned to take it out. When I went to start the engines which are Volvo diesels, I thought I remembered the procedure of pressing the little key symbol until the lights on the 2 D symbols lit up at which time I could turn the keys. I got no response to pressing the key symbol...what am I missing? All 12V switches were on and everything else on the instrument panel working. Hope someone can enlighten me... I have owned many boats but this is the first one with more electronic type controls. :help: Steve Lattmann

Steve,

Procedure is as follows

1) key both engines to "on position"
2) press and hold the "active station" button on the EDC panel
3) count to 5
4) turn each key to the start position, one at a time.

Note, if you fail to start (or get messed up and do something out of order), you need to turn both keys back to the off position, and the turn to the LEFT until you can't turn the key anymore. Then start over.
