Postby 405driver » October 23rd, 2016, 10:15 pm

1998 405 gas engines, Slow Flight III

This is our third Carver, two 32's and the 405. Retired but still very active, been boating for forty years

Love my 405, work on it myself and still learning everyday. Look forward to sharing projects and info with like minded owners.

Welcome hellos and any comments are very welcome....

Hi,

The pics are coming. Several boat projects going on at the moment. Try to put a few on tonight. Rebuilding a Maxwell windlass that has been on the boat since 1998 and has seen better days. It's a Freedom 800.....no longer made but parts are still available...thank goodness.

Thanks for your reply. I'm in the middle of an interesting project right now. My aft deck, aft plastic surround had a crack in it when I bought the boat. I decided to replace it. Of course, Carver (Marquis) no longer has the panel and because of 18 years of UV exposure, it wouldn't match anyway. Right now the solution is to have a similar panel cut from clear plastic and silk screen a color matching high gloss white finish onto one side of the panel. The inside of the panel will be covered by furniture so we decided to only silk screen one side. I thought it was a unique approach. I should have samples first part of next week. I'll post pictures if this works.
