Rebeding bow rails

I would like to rebed the bow rails on my 1992 330 aft cabin, what type of hardware is used to secure bow rail to deck? Is it screwed with a nut or just screwed into the deck? Thanks Mike.

Mike - On the 1995 model line the rail is bolted through the fiberglass and into 1/4" aluminum plate for strength and serviceability. I would assume that is the same for 92's, but that is where Carver was facing survival issues just like all the other marine manufacturers. Economy and 10% luxury tax was beating the heck out of the marine industry. Carver did not compromise their construction techniques like most others did. You could call Carver. They most likely have the construction log for your vessel. They did lose some records in a fire and water damage. Call 920-822-7248 from 8 to 4 Central time. Have your hull # in hand. They are real good at this type of stuff. er

Just a update I have found that rebeding the bow rails is not a bad job due to the carver design. The bow rails fasten to a 1/4” plate embedded in the hull as described by Cooler. Thanks for all the information Carver owners.

Glad it turned out to be an easier process than you first thought. I've got to do pretty much the same thing this season on my 81 3007 aft cabin. Looks like it will be a pain in the rear to get to some of them. May have to take things apart inside to access some of them. Why they made them out of a cast material rather than stainless steel is beyond me. I think mine are cast zinc. The previous owner had replaced some of them. They should have done them all IMO. Oh well. I wanted to install electronic ignition this year but getting the bow rail fixed is a higher priority at the moment.

Rick, I’ve done othe Boat’s I’ve owned this so far is the easest one I’ve done. It should be this way on all boats, this is normal maintenance on a boat! If you keep a boat dry it last forever. BTW where do you keep your boat? We keep ours at Silver shores in Wyandotte and are members at Elba Mar.

I keep my boat at Gibraltar Boat Yard and am a member of West River Yacht & Cruising Club. I am also the 2019 Rear Commodore. I'm sure our paths or wakes as it be will cross somewhere.

Mine is called Gustava II. I kept the name the previous owners had. For now at least. I am still thinking of naming her Happy Together IV. Could happen though not this season.
