SeaDek is a good product but one needs to consider a few things about the product before making a decision whether it's right for you;
- Keep in mind that the bulk product is only so wide so the finished covering for large areas will be a combination of separate panels, some like the look, some don't for a few reasons, so keep this in mind.
- I've had reports that some stains are impossible to remove including bird poop if it's allowed to sit long. You can abrade or sand those areas but that would be noticeable in most pattern options.
- If you have a cat or dog on board with nails, eventually you'll see the consequences of not keeping their nails trimmed.
- All indications seem to point to an average lifespan of about 7 seven years under regular use and still look reasonably good before replacement.
- It's a peel and stick product that's designed to be installed right over flat and non-skid surfaces. The problem with aggressive or patterned non-skid surfaces is that you can end up with voids under the product right from installation or product release. The voids and channels eventually collect water that will not dry quickly, stay in contact with your gelcoat, and cause surface blisters much like you'd get under a bow cushion when left on a wet deck, that surface takes forever to dry out. Some installers will caulk all the edges of each panel in hopes of preventing water intrusion and the edges from lifting which is very common, however it soon becomes a task that needs doing every year as the seal fails along the edge at the point where the caulking meets the product as the product seems to shrink slightly over time. And when it's time to replace the panels, it's be a bear to clean up the caulking especially on non-skid.
Again, good product, looks great, but consider the above before you decide.
