Exhaust Riser replacement Port side 2004 360 sedan

Postby Homelite » February 3rd, 2020, 10:58 pm

Hello,

Just fishing here for some info on performing the following on the port engine. I have Crusader 8/1's. I did the starboard last week. Now the hard side. I'm thinking I need to pull the refrigerator and then cut the floor to be able to remove the port outer exhaust riser. I figured maybe someone has done this on this model and could shed some light! it does not look like it will be fun.

As a side note, I learned the mufflers are not that strong. I broke the starboard one while trying to remove the 4" exhaust hoses in 3o deg weather. Flange on muffler just broke clean off. Repairing with Corvette body panel epoxy, then will fiberglass for extra strength. I thought they were tougher than that!

Thanks in advance if anyone knows about risers on this model....

Homelite - give Brian or Jeff at Carver a call. Have your hull # on hand. He can look up your construction log and point you in the best direction. 920-822-7248 8-) er

Not familiar with that boat or the difficulties getting to the port engine, but could it be easier overall to take the whole manifold off (with the riser attached) and pull the riser from it while off the boat?
