What's the difference between a 634 Santego and a 3067?

Postby shnarkle » November 5th, 2020, 3:39 pm

I just bought a Carver Santego 634, and am trying to see about having a trailer built for it, but the trailer manufacturers can't find the 634 model number. They can only see the 3067 and the 34' models. Does anyone know if those hulls are any different than the 634?

I can't haul the boat out of the water. It's too far away, and I don't have time to get it insured right now so I need accurate specs. These boats look identical to me, but there's probably something different about them. I just don't know what the difference is. My suspicion is that they might be v drives. The 634 I have has stern drives. I've been through a 3067, and almost bought it, but found this one which was a better deal. There doesn't appear to be any difference between them on the topside or interior.

If anyone has any good helpful advice on getting a trailer built for a boat using specs, or knows where specs on this boat might be found, it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum....just a suggestion, call Carver with your HIN number, that should clear up things up and I believe you will get the correct specs. Back in the day many of these boats were shipped on a cradle so they might have some help for you on that,,,,good luck.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Shnarkle, I believe the only difference between a 3067 and a 634 is the badging. I had an 89 3467 and it’s layout is the same as a 634. Both came only with stern drives. The names changes were made in 91. The 2767 became the 630, the 3067 became the 634, the 3467 became the 638 and the 3867 became the 640. In 92 the 640 (3867) was dropped and no longer produced. Then in 93 they rebadged again and the 630 became the 300, the 634 became the 340 and the 638 became the 380.

As bud37 stated call Carver with your him just to be sure, but I would think a trailer for the 3467 will fit the 634.

Not sure if this helps, but it does seem like they are the same when reading this write-up:

Call Carver 800-231-8978. The 3067 was 30 ft long. What is the length of your 634? If it is 30, then the hull is most likely the same hull. The same hull molds were used for a number of different models. Check the last 2 digits on the hull number. That will be the year of the hull. 8-) er

Don't forget to keep in mind, with an 11' beam, you can't trailer it without an oversized load permit.
Also, the height will most likely have to be addressed.
