Replace gas sending unit on 4207

Postby bpatton1003 » September 9th, 2021, 6:17 pm

Both sending units went out within 2 months of each other. I've been able to replace the starboard side (after finding the 'secret' hatch) but I'm having difficulty finding access to the port sending unit. From the salon, it would be directly below the built in cabinet. I haven't been unable to find any access thru the cabinet. Am I missing it or do I need to drill a hole thru the floor of the cabinet????
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Welcome aboard Bob. If you don't see a hatch, you'll probably have to create one. Are you talking about the space that houses the air conditioner as well? If so, I wouldn't hesitate to make an opening there, just make sure you're not cutting into anything underneath that may be fastened to the underside there.

Hopefully one of the other guys with the same model that have been through this before will chime in. Fred, do you recall anything about this?

Thanks...
Unfortunately, it's not the AC hatch. That would be MUCH to easy to get to. After crawling around the engine compartment and taking countless measurements, the sending unit is located 18" forward of the electrical panel.
I think at this point, I'll just make my own access panel.
Thanks again for the quick reply.

Do you have concealed speakers on either side of your breaker panel? That compartment was fairly wide and would probably get you to that area by accessing that speaker space.
