Replacement Decals

Postby kkochner » August 4th, 2014, 10:57 pm

The original carver decals on my 98 530 Voyager were faded so I am taking them off. Does any one know where to get the foam filled chrome carver decals that are on some of the 2005-2008 models? I think those look really sharp and more up to date...thanks for any info!

Hi there
I have a 2000 456 and had the same problem. The original Foam decals were and are great looking. Letters were starting to fall off.
I couldn't find any exactly the same but found this company "Vinyl Approach". They had the exact Size ,Font, Black CARVER
lettering. $ 70 for a pair. I did send them a Photocopy of one of my original letters so they could match it.
The Decals came to Canada in about 2-3 weeks or sooner .
I cleaned the old lettering off , buffed and polished the surface, READ the instructions and followed them. Installed them myself . They covered the old image left behind by the old decals exactly.
They are perfect in every way , except they are not raised. They look great and for the time being , the boat looks much better.
in the future if some exact replacements become available I might replace the "flat" ones.

I have considered getting some custom made Stainless or Chrome lettering made but besides cost , another consideration I had was that the heavier Stainless letters might need to be fastened with hardware requiring ( heaven forbid ) drilling holes !

In any case I think its definetly worth putting the lettering back on your beautiful 530.

Victor

Thanks Victor and Fred...I have seen the flat ones and seen Great lake skipper as well although they dont have the ones I need at least online. Maybe I should call them and see if they have the newer version I am looking for. The more recent models have the cool chrome colored ones that are foam filled. They are definitely harder to find that I thought they would be. Maybe I will have to settle for the flat ones...I did see some flat chrome ones as well. I appreciate you both taking the time to reply! Thanks!
