Need to replace v-berth table

Postby jewelofnile12 » September 24th, 2014, 11:15 am

Hello! Our 1989 2557 Montego came without the table for the v-berth (they fashioned a piece of wood to fit in its place to support the cushions for sleeping and it appears to still have the pedestal). We'd like to either find an old part somewhere to replace it or figure out how to fashion one ourselves. Has anyone taken on a project like this? If so, any advice? The next step will be to recover some of the cushions. Fun! Any advice, ideas, etc., is greatly appreciated!

You will probably never find an OEM table. You can buy Teak covered plywood, form it, attach teak edge trim to it, and then varnish the whole thing.

Not sure where Oregon, WI is, but there is Kendors (Great Lakes Skipper)in Franklin, Wi, which is just south of Milwaukee off of 94. They usually have a bunch of teak stuff and even some table tops that may work or you could maybe even cut down to size.
Thanks
