Welcome Aboard. Someone here will be able to get you the information you are seeking. The Mariner is a popular boat here in my area. Lots of them to be seen.

Welcome aboard Rob.
The number you provided is the hull number, the Vehicle Identification Number unique to every vessel if you will. Hopefully someone with the same vintage boat will chime in.

What is the engine doing/not doing? Does it crank over? Not cranking, no click, nothing?

Welcome to the forum Rob....the model is like you said a Mariner, actually there were two models around that time, A few years earlier they had a Mariner which had no lower helm and the Voyageur which had the lower helm, same boat different interior layout. There was a model number " 2897 ", thats all I got man good luck with your new boat...... :beergood:

THanks All.
One engine was water damaged. The other would turn but not start. Owner didnt know too much about it.
I got it to use mainly for Weekend at the Marina, I have a Bass boat and another runabout, so If I can get the one running it would be nice to have.
Ill be messing with it once I get it to my slip..
I need to check the bilges out, Today I switched the one on and it worked, The AFT one was not working, couple of taps and it ran, Then it Stopped, still water in there, I went and tried the Other bilge and nothing, WHERE are the Fuses? or breakers?? I tested for power and none at either wires??? I might have over loaded something, the panel its on has other things and they still work. Maybe they died but no power to the wires has me confused.. I checked the fuses at the aft deck, as you walk out and they were good?
Going tomorrow to see whats what

I really don't think you are going to find any fuses anywhere. You should have an electric panel somewhere in the salon with 12 volt breakers on one side and 120 volt shore power breakers on the other side.

So I took the panel off, I switched the switch with another and still no power to wires? Power is good to the switch.
I tested the pumps with power and they work.
So I know a loose wire or broken wire would do this, BUT to all the bilge pumps, Something else had to happen here? they had power and then everything stopped, So I must have a fuse somewhere blown, I checked all 3 battery fuses and they are good, Everything else on the Panel works .

Not the same boat but the same vintage, my old '88 montego had bilge pump fuses and main fuses next to the battery switch. Maybe a place to look?

Check the helm area for switches etc...does your model still have the battery switch right at the step going out to the cockpit deck ? ..... The thing is you never know what went before, you may have to eyeball the wiring back to the source from the pumps or continuity checks.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
