Kohler model 7.5, R27. Ran fine. Just shut down like it was turned off. Found blown cranking relay fuse. Replace fuse (3 times). Nothing. Now does not blow fuse, but nothing at either test position, or remote. Battery good. New solenoid.
Any ideas???

Did the fuse actually blow three times and needed to be replaced, or you just replaced it once because it was blown and then a couple times "just in case it was bad"??

Don't think the cranking relay fuse would cause the genset to quit running, so I'm wondering what else could be common with that fuse.

The fuse blew 3 times, then did not blow anymore. I'm going to trace wires from that fuse to be sure there are no voids. If I jump the solenoid contacts, the unit turns over well. But no start. I have jumped the low oil wires, as well as the over heat wires also. Now it's above my feable generator knowledge.

Excuse me if I do not reply promptly. I am new to this site and trying to navigate through it. I'm not sure where to find replies to my post.

Do you have a wiring diagram or schematic of the R27? I poked around a little bit but could not find one online. I'm sure there's one out there if you searched enough though. That would help narrow down what could be the culprit or at least where to focus your search.

If you get a chance, scan it or take a pic of it and post it. Might help us understand what you're dealing with so we can offer appropriate suggestions. Pics of the genset and/or control panels itself can help too.
