Midnight Sun,
I was looking at your pics and my wife and I really liked all you did with the boat.
Was the decking expensive? Having dogs I think that would be the way to go. Especially on the stairs.
How does she handle underway? Does she take waves well? Any thoughts you have would be great.
It's not a beamy boat that's why I was wondering.

Thanks bud37,
Good advice.
Would make sense to get a surveyor for the boat and separate for Diesels.

The decking was around 6,000 CDN for all 3 levels and swim platform. Cannot comment on waves as I am mostly on river however I have been onto lake Ontario a few times in a good blow where it can get nasty and no issues. Fuel consumption with the Volvos is almost a joke if you keep the speed around hull speed @ a little over 2g/hr total for both engines. Up on plane it is not bad either compared to gas but then again it is a boat so no miracles to be had.
Cheers, Hans

We are putting an offer on the 41 CMY next week. If we get it I will be asking more questions/suggestions.
Anyone know of any good surveyors and Volvo Mechanics in the Boston area?
Thanks.

PS. Midnight Sun, the pics of the helm deck being taken off....how was that to watch? OUCH.
Everything worked out well?

Hard to describe. Exciting and OH my God come to mind when I think about it. I chalk it up as another learning curve . Everything worked out very well except for the unexpected extra $. I am in the heavy Lift Business (hydraulic jacking) so this move/lift is really baby stuff in my eyes. Problem is they were disassembling MY boat and not moving a bridge. Stressful to say the least.

Even though I have not owned her all that long, I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge about this boat so feel free to ask if things work out for you.
Cheers, Hans

Hi Hans, we are still in the negotiations but looks like it may be close to a done deal. Question for you (one of many if we close on this haha) my wife is concerned with the storage spaces. Hanging lockers, drawers, etc.. have you done any other modifications to gain any extra stowage like the pic of under the bench seat of the dinette? We plan on looking at the boat soon just to get another feel for it. We looked at a Searay 40 that had a ton of space so hard not to compare to that.
Thanks for your comments. Really appreciate it

Not all that many changes however the 2 dining seats had really small openings as you will see on yours. Opening them up really made a huge difference. The hanging locker in the aft cabin under the TV was rather useless so I added some shelves to that one which also was a nice update. The space under the kitchen floor is very big and you will be able to store quite a bit in there. Overall there is a decent amount of storage however I would call it average. Good luck on the negotiations.
Cheers, Hans

We signed the P&S this past weekend. Have to wait for the Survey on the hard at the end of Feb and shooting for end of March for the Sea Trial. Can't come fast enough. Like a kid waiting for Christmas.
