Water is way high.

Postby Cooler » May 24th, 2019, 6:47 pm

Well gang, I have never in all my years, seen the water this high. Cooler is on a fixed height dock. We had just 3" of clearance to the water last night. Water levels were changing by the minute with the range of 6" to a foot. If something doesn't change, we are going to need waders to get to the boat. The good news is we have the option of a four point tie, so we can stay in the well. Need to start singing Rain, Rain Go Away! Temps tomorrow in the 80's. Windy, hoping for off shore direction. If the water stays this high, then anyone who bottoms out on anything is just asking for it! Let the season begin!

Seen that before, your fenders are now useless when winds change and the boats chine is grinding away on the edge of the dock.....I know you know this, just thought I would expand for the sake of others that have never had to deal with this situation......good you got the four point tie off. The other day ours went up and down about 1 ft, like a tide.

Heh I heard the real reason for the high levels....too many new boats being put in this spring... :-D ... :beergood:
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

High water on all the Great Lakes this season. Going to be interesting this year for sure.
