ZINC ANODES FOR 3077 CARVER

Postby LAZ » June 11th, 2019, 11:06 pm

Hi Gang,

Hope everyone is well and your boating season is off to a fantastic start! Am a bit of a dummy as an operator and hoping someone can help. I am having my 1982 3077 aft cabin Carver out of the water this weekend, and have to replace the stern zincs. I have never done it before, and don't know where to start. Can anyone tell me;
1. what type of zincs, or zincs "package" I need for such a boat, and

2. (I know this one is a huge reach) where I might find/buy them in Vancouver BC.

HUGE THANK YOU in advance, to anyone who can provide me any guidance/assistance/answers!

Laz

You need zincs on your rudders, shafts and trim tabs if you have tabs. You might also have a large Zinc mounted on the stern. You should be able to find them at any marine supplier or on line. Just google boat zincs. Plenty of places to buy them.

Thanks Buster. Do I not need certain types of zincs dependant upon type and size of boat, etc?

My guess, you are in salt water.......inspect what you have when the boat comes out and replace with the same ones......Martyr are in BC. I believe, they will have what you want, like Buster said all the marinas there should be able to help you as it is a very common item.
Have you had a diver do it for you before ?
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion..... :popcorn:

Let's make sure you are in salt water. Sacrificial anodes are different from salt to fresh water. Assuming you are having your boat hauled at a marina, chances are real good they have necessary zincs available on site
