Just bought a Carver have a couple issues/questions

Anything related to the operation of your boat. Steering, Bilge Pumps, thru-hulls, bottom paint, etc.

Also look for an in-line fuse in the power wire right by the pump. My 83 had one there, as well as a breaker on the panel.

On the fuel gauge... the switch is a temporary switch. You have to hold it to port or starboard to check the fuel level, and it gets power from ONE of the engine ignition switches. On mine it's the port engine.

On the fuel gauge. The switch is a momentary-contact switch, so you have to hold it to port or starboard to get a reading on the gauge, and it's powered by ONE of the ignition switches. Mine is powered by the Port engine ignition switch.

if its a 1988 27, it most likely only has a single fuel tank and a fuse panel, no breakers.
