2 x 30 amp power cords, 25 feet and 50 feet

I just removed this from the boat for the winter. I did notice some burn marks. couple months ago tide was very high and these two were connected to each other. there was protection, but water must have gotten in. When i got to boat, I pulled it higher away from the water and did not open and check. Continued using it for 3+ months with no problems. And when I was removing one set (I have 2, one for normal power, other for AC). I noticed the burn marks (see pictures). Again they seemed to function perfectly fine. The second set is fine, no damage sign, and I am keeping that. This one I already purchased a 75 foot replacement (yes 75 foot - expensive too). In any case, I take no responsibility for it's use. But they seemed to work fine for me. I am sure the cable them self are perfectly fine. The heads can be replaced probably, or used as is, I am no electrician. So maybe consult one if you are interested. make me an offer if interested. They are now located in Germantown MD. But I can ship in US.

Those plugs are way too scorched and show signs of severe arcing. Please throw these away or sell it to someone who will replace the ends as the wire is probably fine. Agreed. 1 end of each cable should be replaced. In this case, if anyone interested in them I will gladly give it away free, if some one needs them and willing to fix the 2 ends.

Replacing ends is no big deal. People do it all the time. If you decide to keep these cords and replace the ends, I suggest cutting the cords back a foot or so to make sure you have good, clean wires. Those burns can travel up the wire.
I also suggest not connecting cords with each other. Get power cords that are long enough to reach shore power.

You could always put new ends on them and keep them as spares or backup power cords.

Biggest issue is a set of "Marine" connecters go for around $80. This is why I posted a link to the $75 complete new cord assembly. Sometimes repair is just not worth it unless you have access to free parts or have them lying around from past purchases that were never used.

Here is an alternate idea.....I would cut both ends off and immediately throw the ends away, roll up the cable and hang in garage till you find some new ends. Install the ends and use the cord for a maintenance cord when the boat is hauled/stored, that would keep your good sealed cords from yard damage.

Really , it is almost impossible to get a proper seal when you put ends on, rendering the cords unsafe for dock use in my opinion.

Actually I purchased 75' long now. I have a unique situation on docking, I go bow in, as stern has the better view, and it takes 75 feet of cable to reach the stern. The original owner had 4 power cables (2x25' and 2x50'), They probably kept two at dock and two onboard I assume. But in my case I had to get the 25' + 50' together to reach stern. And I have 2 sets, so it worked out fine for almost 5 years now. Matter of fact this damage happened 2019 season, but would not have noticed had I not taken it apart. The other set seamed to be fine, only one set had this problem. Anyway that's the story of it.
