Postby Njlarry » May 15th, 2020, 8:43 pm

As anyone removed the interior carpet and replaced it with a different material? Interested to know how it came out and what material you used and what you did with s 'll the hatch seams in the saloon.

We recplaced all the carpet and got new carpet all installed. It was glued down and staples all around the hatches. We didn't wanr a different material because we love the feel of carpet on the inside of the boat. The carpet comes out , just have to scrape all around. See the project section of this web site.

This boat and the previous 4207, had white Frise (sp?) carpetting put in.
Liked it so much on the 4207, put it in this one.
Thanks

I replaced the all of the carpet with a floating vinyl plank flooring. I did have to glue a few pieces around the hatches and on the hatch.
I removed the hatches and glued the pieces on. I made the pieces slightly larger than the hatch and used a file/sandpaper for the final fit.

We're doing the cabin sole with a vinyl product from Lowes. This stuff

Someone over on the Bayliner group used this stuff. Jim

With any vinyl product, how do you plan to handle the edges over all the hatch seems?
