Interior door levers

Postby Tireless » March 5th, 2021, 10:16 am

Over time I have noticed that some of the levers on my interior doors are dropping down and seem to have lost their tension. I would like to fix them. Has anyone looked into this issue and was wondering if you could assist me in how to rectify the issue, short of replacing the door levers.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Not knowing what you have I would try to open them up and see what is in there. Most likely just a spring that is tired and need of replacement.

and you might be able to swap some around so that the ones on the left side of doors get swapped for the ones on the right sides of doors so that the wear is evened out over time.

Greg, when I first got the 3807, all the door handles sagged. It is a an internal spring as Hans mentioned. I removed the complete assemblies, dropped them off at a local locksmith and had them back in time for the following weekend. They usually have a selection of different springs they can use or modify to do the job. Worked great and was at a very reasonable cost.

As a quick fix on our Mariner, I used a spring from an old click pen. Seemed to work just fine!

I still haven’t had a chance to check mine out. I can’t go to the boat. Would love to hear how you make out Rmscarver.

How did you end up fixing this issue? I have the same problem with the sealed square mechanism piece. :banghead:
