Hello All!

:captain:

KenGrant here.. Well, for better or worse I've just acquired my first Yacht. I know this because Caver said so and it does not have drain plug. This is boat no. 4 for me & the 2nd with a toilet and sink(s). There issues to solve with engines B4 she can hit the water the first time. I'm handy with tools & the price was right. Now the fun begins.
Cheers. to all.

Welcome Aboard. Best of luck with your Carver. There is most likely a drain plug in there somewhere. I thought my 81 3007 Aft Cabin did not have a drain plug. I did find one in the hull at a low spot where when the boat was out of the water it could drain out if needed.

On my old 3607, the drain plug was at the stern in the bottom between the rudders. The lowest part of the bilge was up in front of the engines, so the only way water would drain would be if the boat was tilted WAY up at the bow. The first couple years I removed the drain plug, but after that figured it was a total waste of time, so I never did after that.

:banghead: I've uploaded some photos as she was when purchased in my "Gallery". The 280 is largest trailer-able boat for a 3/4 T Diesel PU. There is definitely not a plug in the transom. I'll have to look around FOR in engine compartment to see if something was missed..
Thank you all for the kind greetings.
KenG

Update. I found the garboard drain plug. This is not you grandfathers ski boat Puzzled that Carver did not install a DC power panel. This must have been an option. I looked over a 1993 280 for sale near me, it had the DC panel installed. Oh well.

My 280 has twin 4.3 Gi Volvo Penta DP. Carver did me no favors with the engine room layout. The layout works for the single screw but not the double. I’m moving things around to make it work. I’ll post more photos when finished.

Cheers. KenG
