my port engine is acting up long story short i think i need a new distributor the Sierra 18-5484 looks like the one at roughly 500 bux.... i see others that look the same that say marine that are around 200-200 range ... some people don't like Sierra stuff just wondering what you all think

Nothing wrong with Sierra IMO. I am an OEM guy but I also use some Sierra stuff. There are some things I just don't do aftermarket though. You get to know what not to get aftermarket with experience. Haven't had an issue with their ignition components.

What leads you to believe this is a distributor problem and why do you think it needs to be replaced? Just old and in bad shape? Could it be just the module that needs replacing?
