350 Mariner Salon Speaker Replacement

Postby ColinC » August 15th, 2023, 12:56 am

Hi,

New to the forum. Just bought my first boat, a 350 Mariner. I'm replacing a lot of the interior fixtures - shower sump, cabin lights, radio/tv, cabinet hinges etc. but I'm stuck trying to replace the internal salon speakers either side of the rear door, under the external stairs at either side of the boat. These have a plastic cowling that is flush against the internal fiberglass and I can't see any way of removing it.

Any help is appreciated,

Colin.

I believe if you just put a small blade screwdriver under the outer ring, that ring will just pop off. That will expose the speaker screws. 8-) er

Perfect thanks. I just needed some assurance that I wouldn't just crack the thing off the wall. I used a razor knife to raise the edge and slid a small flat screwdriver under the raised edge and pulled and it came off without a hitch.

Cheers,

Hi there Colin.
I just replaced my sump with a Rule 800 GPH Shower Drain Box item 98B.
It is pretty much a direct replacement for what is in there now with several upgraded features.
