Frost In Fridge

Postby Midnightsun » August 27th, 2023, 10:18 am

How often do you guys need to defrost your fridge? Ours seems to last about 6 weeks or so and becomes due. When I say due, I am talking about 1/2" thick in the worst area. The fridge is packed pretty tight all season long so maybe normal to frost up more? All the seals seem to be fine but the frequency seems too frequent if you ask me. The fridge on the bridge lasts all summer however there are only drinks in that one and does not get opened for very long and not that frequently.
Cheers, Hans

When I used to keep my freezer running, I would defrost about once a month. I don't have it on anymore because I cut power off if I am not at the marina for a couple days. Sounds pretty normal to me. As far as frequency, depends on the setting of how cold you want it. At night I roll my setting back to less cool. 8-) er

Packed fridge may slow air flow and with the constant humidity this year seems about normal.....how are your door seals looking ?
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

I checked all the seals and they sure seem to be sealing as they should.

I see every 6-8 week depending on use and humidity. This season seems to be a little hotter and more humid than past.
